Why the Dell Latitude 7300 makes sense as a refurbished business laptop from the premium Latitude series

Premium business class

Latitude 7000 sits at the top of Dell's business line — above the mainstream Latitude 5000 and well above the entry Latitude 3000. The Dell Latitude 7300 brings that class to a 13.3-inch body.

Compact, from 1.25 kg

Starting weight from 1.25 kg on carbon fiber configurations, in a chassis 17.42–18.45 mm thick — light enough for a full day in the bag. Aluminium versions start at 1.30 kg and are 16.57–17.52 mm thick.

SO-DIMM memory up to 32 GB

Two SO-DIMM slots with user-replaceable DDR4-2400 up to 32 GB — uncommon in the premium 13.3-inch class, where the later Latitude 7000 models moved to soldered memory. You can add RAM after the purchase.

Up to 60 Wh; ExpressCharge as an option

A large 60 Wh battery is an option for this 13.3-inch ultraportable, alongside a 42 Wh version. With a compatible battery, Dell ExpressCharge charges up to 80% in about an hour with the laptop off, ExpressCharge mode enabled and the bundled charger. Useful on long days and frequent trips.

Carbon fiber or aluminium

Lid in carbon fiber or aluminium — the carbon weave is lighter at the same rigidity. The chassis is built to the MIL-STD-810G durability tests.

Intel Whiskey Lake-U + vPro

Intel Core 8th Gen (Whiskey Lake-U) with UHD Graphics 620; a vPro option on the i5-8365U and i7-8665U for centralised IT management.

Thunderbolt 3 + Dell docking

A single Thunderbolt 3 port connects monitors, network and peripherals over one cable through a Dell dock — a tidy desk for fixed-workplace use.

720p camera; IR and privacy shutter as options

A 720p camera with an optional physical privacy shutter and an optional IR sensor for Windows Hello face recognition. The IR camera does not add ExpressSign-in presence detection — on models of this generation that feature belongs to the separate Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1.

TPM 2.0 + optional ControlVault 3

Business security: TPM 2.0, an optional Dell ControlVault 3 to protect credentials, SafeBIOS support, and an optional fingerprint reader built into the power button.

Value as a refurbished laptop

As a used business laptop from the premium Latitude series, the Dell Latitude 7300 puts high business class within reach at a more sensible price — with a real warranty from ITR Bulgaria.

Product description

Dell Latitude 7300: the 13.3-inch premium ultraportable with a carbon fiber option

Latitude 7000 is Dell's premium line — the machines the company lines up directly against the HP EliteBook 800 and the Lenovo ThinkPad T. Below it sit the mainstream Latitude 5000 and the entry Latitude 3000; above it, later, comes the ultra-premium Latitude 9000. The Dell Latitude 7300 is the compact 13.3-inch member of that premium line from the Whiskey Lake wave — an ultraportable with a carbon fiber chassis option and a large 60 Wh battery, for people who want premium quality in the smallest format among the classic laptops of the series and generation. The positioning has concrete consequences: premium materials, a starting weight from 1.25 kg, and a chassis 17.42–18.45 mm thick with the carbon fiber lid or 16.57–17.52 mm with the aluminium one, with no cuts to the business feature set.

The Latitude 7000 line is not a recent idea. It took over the premium business Ultrabook role at Dell — the place once held by the older Latitude 6000 — and from the start it carried one recognisable detail: a carbon fiber lid, the same material Dell uses in its consumer XPS line. The choice has an engineering reason. Carbon weave is lighter than aluminium at the same rigidity, so the lid stays steady when you pick the machine up by one corner, and the chassis keeps the thin profile that made the series a favourite among people who spend the workday on the move. The Dell Latitude 7300 sits at an interesting turning point in that line. It is one of the last premium 13.3-inch Latitudes you can open up and upgrade yourself — two SO-DIMM slots with user-replaceable memory up to 32 GB DDR4. The later Dell Latitude 7310, 7320 and 7420 traded that for soldered memory to shave off a few more tenths of a millimetre and a gram. For someone buying a refurbished machine, that pays off years later: you add RAM after the purchase and extend the working life of the laptop instead of replacing the whole device.

With this generation Dell allowed itself one small boast: it announced the Dell Latitude 7300 as the world's smallest premium 13-inch business laptop. The claim rested on trimmed bezels and a tight footprint — and on a choice that was rare at the time: a chassis in carbon-fiber weave or aluminum, MIL-STD-tested either way. Reviewers added the ten hours of real battery life and concluded practically: a small machine without small compromises. Models like that age with the most dignity.

The platform is Intel 8th Gen, codenamed Whiskey Lake-U, with integrated UHD Graphics 620 and a vPro option on the i5-8365U and i7-8665U — enough for documents, a browser with many open tabs, business platforms and video calls. 42 Wh and 60 Wh batteries are offered, including a separate 60 Wh Long Life option. On compatible versions Dell ExpressCharge returns up to 80% in about an hour with the laptop off, ExpressCharge mode enabled and the bundled charger — the cover between two meetings in different offices. Connectivity runs through a single Thunderbolt 3 port (one cable to a dock with monitors and peripherals), two USB-A 3.1 ports (one with PowerShare to charge a phone), HDMI and an optional microSD reader. The display is 13.3 inches in 16:9, with an FHD IPS anti-glare panel on the better configurations (up to 300 nits) and an optional SafeScreen built-in privacy filter that dims the screen against a side glance on a plane or train. On configurations with a camera, the camera is 720p, with a physical shutter and an IR sensor for Windows Hello as options; it does not add ExpressSign-in presence detection. Security rests on TPM 2.0, an optional Dell ControlVault 3, SafeBIOS support and an optional fingerprint reader in the power button.

An honest word on the trade-offs. The Dell Latitude 7300 is from a generation where the 13.3-inch business screen is still 16:9 and the camera is 720p; the later Dell Latitude 7320 adds a 1080p camera as an option alongside 720p versions. There is only one Thunderbolt port (the Dell Latitude 7310 doubled that), no full-size RJ45 for wired networking (an adapter or dock is needed), and the Dell Optimizer software pack only arrives with the following generations. Among the direct rivals from the same wave: the HP EliteBook 830 G6 is HP's 13.3-inch premium — both machines still keep replaceable SO-DIMM memory, so the choice comes down to something else, with HP leaning on its built-in Sure View privacy filter and Dell on the carbon fiber chassis and the larger 60 Wh battery. The Lenovo ThinkPad X390 is the compact premium ThinkPad of the generation — there the choice is the ThinkPad keyboard and TrackPoint against Dell's carbon and battery. And if 13.3 inches is too small, the Dell Latitude 7400 is the 14-inch version from the same line with the same effective memory speed (2400 MHz with 8th Gen Core); the Dell Latitude 7300 trades screen area for compactness. As a refurbished laptop in the business class, the Latitude 7300 makes sense exactly here: a used business laptop from the premium Latitude line that, after a technical audit and refurbishment by ITR Bulgaria, ships with a real warranty — and with the rare-for-its-class option to add memory whenever you need it.

Who it suits

Scenarios where the Dell Latitude 7300 makes the strongest sense

Travelling professionals who value weight

A sales rep or manager who moves the laptop between offices, airports and client meetings every day. A starting weight of 1.25 kg with the carbon fiber lid and a 17.42–18.45 mm profile mean the bag does not weigh on you by the end of the day.

Consultants with long working days

A consultant who spends eight hours in a client office with no reliable place to charge. The optional 60 Wh battery and ExpressCharge with a compatible battery (up to 80% in about an hour over the lunch break with the laptop off, ExpressCharge mode enabled and a suitable charger) cover the working day without hunting for a socket.

Hybrid work on the move

For switching between home, the office and the road: one Thunderbolt 3 cable connects a monitor and peripherals at the desk, while the compact chassis packs away easily for the day out.

Executives after a compact premium

A manager who wants premium quality but not 14 or 15 inches in the briefcase. The Dell Latitude 7300 gives the materials and security of the Latitude 7000 in the smallest format among the classic laptops of the series and generation.

Additional information

Where does the Dell Latitude 7300 fit in the series? ▼

The Dell Latitude 7300 belongs to Latitude 7000 — Dell's premium business line. In the portfolio hierarchy, 7000 sits above 5000 (mainstream) and well above 3000 (entry); later, the ultra-premium Latitude 9000 sits above it. That makes it a direct competitor to the HP EliteBook 800 series and the compact premium ThinkPad models (ThinkPad X).

Within the 7000 series itself, the Dell Latitude 7300 is the compact 13.3-inch member from the Whiskey Lake wave — next to it sits the 14-inch Dell Latitude 7400 on the same platform with a larger screen. Its predecessor is the Dell Latitude 7390, and its direct successor is the Dell Latitude 7310 (Intel 10th Gen), which doubles the Thunderbolt ports and moves to soldered memory.

One detail sets this generation apart: the Dell Latitude 7300 is among the last premium 13.3-inch Latitudes with replaceable SO-DIMM memory — an option the later models in the line dropped.

The Dell Latitude 7300 is not ideal if… ▼
  • You need a discrete graphics card for video editing, 3D or heavy graphics work — the integrated UHD 620 is built for office loads; for more, look at the Dell Precision line.
  • You want a 14- or 15-inch screen for roomier spreadsheet work — the Dell Latitude 7400 (14-inch, same line and generation) is the more logical pick.
  • You need 360-degree hinges and tablet mode — the Dell Latitude 7300 is a standard clamshell without that build. A touchscreen, however, is offered as an option.
  • You want a newer Intel platform or a 1080p camera — the Dell Latitude 7310 moves to 10th Gen and the Dell Latitude 7320 to 11th Gen Core. The 7310 stays with a 720p camera; the 7320 offers 1080p as an option alongside 720p versions.
  • You need a full-size RJ45 port without an adapter, or two Thunderbolt ports — there is no RJ45 here, and only one Thunderbolt 3.
  • You need a guaranteed specific configuration (CPU, RAM, SSD, display, IR camera) — configurations vary, so it is worth checking the individual unit before buying.
Choosing the right size and form factor ▼

The 13.3-inch class is for people who put compactness and weight above screen area. The Dell Latitude 7300 lands right there — from 1.25 kg with the carbon fiber lid and 17.42–18.45 mm thick, or from 1.30 kg and 16.57–17.52 mm with the aluminium version, comfortable for frequent travel and daily carrying.

14-inch class (Dell Latitude 7400): the same Whiskey Lake platform and the same premium materials, but a larger screen and the same effective memory speed of 2400 MHz with 8th Gen Core. A good fit if you work more with spreadsheets and documents and do not mind a little extra weight.

Form factor: the Dell Latitude 7300 is a standard clamshell with no 360-degree hinges. For touch and tablet mode from the same era, look at Dell's convertible models (for example the Dell Latitude 7400 2-in-1) — a separate build for that scenario.

Alternative models ▼

Within Dell:

Dell Latitude 7400 — the 14-inch version from the same line and generation. More screen area and the same effective memory speed of 2400 MHz with 8th Gen Core; the trade-off is a little more weight and bulk.

Dell Latitude 7310 — the direct successor (Intel 10th Gen). A newer platform and two Thunderbolt ports, but soldered memory with no SO-DIMM upgrade.

Dell Latitude 7390 — the previous generation. A more affordable refurbished option on a tight budget, on an older Intel platform.

Dell Latitude 5300 — the 13.3-inch mainstream business class. More affordable, but with a simpler build and without some of the Dell Latitude 7000 premium features.

Cross-brand alternatives (13.3″, premium business class, same wave):

HP EliteBook 830 G6 — HP's direct 13.3-inch premium rival. Both machines still keep SO-DIMM memory; the difference is HP's Sure View privacy filter against Dell's carbon fiber chassis and 60 Wh battery.

Lenovo ThinkPad X390 — the compact premium Lenovo ThinkPad of the generation. The choice comes down to the classic Lenovo ThinkPad keyboard and TrackPoint against Dell's carbon and battery.

Note: do not compare the Dell Latitude 7300 with the Dell Latitude 3300 or the HP ProBook 430 — those are a lower business class with a different target group.

Refurbished by ITR Bulgaria: what value do you get? ▼

The Dell Latitude 7300 is a model where refurbishment has clear logic. The Latitude 7000 series is built for a long corporate life — parts are standardised, documentation is available, and serviceability allows professional refurbishment. With the Dell Latitude 7300 there is an added advantage: the SO-DIMM slots allow memory to be added, so the refurbished machine can be configured to the need.

After it has been through refurbishment, the used laptop is prepared for repeat business use: technical audit, cleaning, configuration, original software, and packaging with a real warranty and support from ITR Bulgaria. For companies equipping their staff, that is the difference between an unchecked used machine and a refurbished business laptop with support behind it.

Frequently asked questions ▼

Is the Dell Latitude 7300 a good choice as a used laptop?

Yes, and for a specific reason. Latitude 7000 is Dell's premium business line, built for a long corporate life, which makes it well suited to refurbishment. On top of that, the Dell Latitude 7300 keeps SO-DIMM slots — uncommon for the class — so the memory can be upgraded if needed. As a refurbished laptop in the premium business class, it gives a higher-class device than a new budget laptop at a similar price.

Is it an Intel 9th Gen laptop, as the category suggests?

No. Despite how it is filed in stock, the Dell Latitude 7300 uses Intel Core 8th Gen, codenamed Whiskey Lake-U (i5-8265U / 8365U vPro, i7-8565U / 8665U vPro). It is an efficient U-series platform, well suited to documents, business applications and video calls.

What is the difference between the Dell Latitude 7300 and Dell Latitude 7400?

Mainly the size. The Dell Latitude 7300 is the 13.3-inch compact version, the Dell Latitude 7400 is the 14-inch one — the same Whiskey Lake platform and the same premium materials, but the Dell Latitude 7400 has a larger screen and the same effective memory speed of 2400 MHz with 8th Gen Core. The Dell Latitude 7300 trades screen area for less weight and bulk.

Can the memory and storage be upgraded?

Yes. The Dell Latitude 7300 has two SO-DIMM slots for DDR4-2400 up to 32 GB and one M.2 NVMe slot for an SSD — both accessible for upgrades, which is one of this model's practical advantages. The exact starting configuration depends on the individual unit.
